Iconic Bixby House: Situated 12 miles south of Carmel adjacent to the historic Bixby Bridge sits the most spectacular property along the coast. 11 pristine acres on the west side of Highway 1 allow for complete privacy and unobstructed views of the ocean and a very special view of one of the most photographed and beautiful bridges in California: Bixby Bridge. Bixby House has a total of 5 bedrooms/6 bathrooms with approximately 5,000 sq.ft. with a beautifully rustic guesthouse built in the 1800s that came through the Panama Canal and is a sight to see. The home is full of beautiful wood carvings, charm and wide open ocean views. In a grove of cypress trees features a beautiful sculpture by Gordon Newell. This is the most iconic property along the beautiful Big Sur Coast. This property is like having your own private island.

Monterey County is located on the Pacific coast of California, with its northwestern section forming the southern half of Monterey Bay. The northern half of the bay is in Santa Cruz County. As of 2010, the population was 415,057. The county seat and largest city is Salinas.

The Monterey County coastline, including Big Sur, State Route 1, and the 17 Mile Drive on the Monterey Peninsula, has made the county world famous. The city of Monterey was the capital of California under Spanish and Mexican rule. The economy is primarily based upon tourism in the coastal regions and agriculture in the Salinas River valley. Most of the county's people live near the northern coast and Salinas valley, while the southern coast and inland mountain regions are almost devoid of human habitation.
